------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Her career began as a medical social worker, a teacher and later in roles within a traditional manufacturing business environment at Worcester Controls. When Robert McCray sold Worcester Controls, he offered Gerardine the opportunity to start a manufacturing organization for his new startup venture. In 1979, while waiting for Mr. McCrays' new product to develop, Gerardine found an opportunity to provide circuit board assembly services for Whistler radar detectors. She bought a wave solder machine, hired a few skilled solderers and Cirtronics had its first customer. In the first ten years of existence, the company operated as a "stuffing house" that accepted kits of through-hole components to build printed circuit board assemblies. In the early 90's, Cirtronics began offering material procurement services that allowed the company to better manage production flow and grow the contract manufacturing business. In the mid-90's, ownership of Cirtronics transferred from Robert McCray to Gerardine. She then began heavily investing in automated equipment to support the advanced technologies of that time such as surface mount, in-circuit and functional test. Technical staffing was added to offer design for manufacturability and design for test support. In the late 90's, full box build and fulfillment services were offered. Today, Cirtronics operates as a full service Electronic Manufacturing Service (EMS) provider of prototype through product fulfillment services of highly complex board and final product assemblies.
